You mentioned that the light was special that day. I agree, and I don't think it needs color or the busy areas at the edge of the photo to convey the direction and intensity. I also like the reflections.

thanks for posting this well shot photo. Here is my attempt at an edit. My goal was to make the photo less busy and I did this by brightening and adding slight blur to the water reflection..
Here is my take on the very pretty scene.

Nice shot fergmark - here's my view:
Exposing my ignorance here, but why does the "download" version so often look so different from the smaller (thumbnail?) version shown in the thread? In my case this week, the difference is striking and neither file is identical to the image I see in lightroom.
