I have read the article and it appears i could get an increase of about 35 % if i used the calculator correct ( using the 36mm ) no stacking of tubes .with stacking up to 1.65 In your opinion are these worth it ? Ive found a used set Kenko i could get for about 90 $

I own a set of Kenko lenses, which I use with my Nikkor 105G macro lens. 105G alone renders 1:1 (life-size) at WD of 157-mm = 6.2-inches. With 68-mm of extension tube, I can achieve 2:1 (2x life-size).

105-mm MWD field of view on DX sensor = 1:1 magnification (life-size)
105-mm MWD field of view on DX sensor = 1:1 magni...

105-mm MWD field with 68-mm tubes on DX sensor = 2:1 mag (2x life-size)
105-mm MWD field with 68-mm tubes on DX sensor = 2...

I rely on my speedlight to "freeze" my shaky hands during macro!
