Baking your dough in these tough times...

I went to the bagel restaurant this morning - went through the drive-through. Held out a paper bag and asked them to just drop the change in there. I also went by the bank and the ATM. I want to keep some extra cash around the house "just in case". Collected the cash with gloves on and put in the paper bag.
All contents of the paper bag were baked at 250 degrees for 30 minutes. Should be enough to kill any virus. Now safe to handle with my bare hands.
Some people launder their money instead. Detergent and warm water for 20 minutes or so, a 10% bleach solution for 5-10 minutes, etc. Alcohol. US money is pretty durable - I am not sure that the bleach won't bleach the bills out a little - maybe watch this while they soak....
Love the information! Thanks for trying this out.
I have not seen any well documented work on what zaps this virus completely but agree with the 250 degrees/30 minutes bit. That's well beyond reports on other "bugs" out there.
Now that I know my zillions of stashed cash will be safe in the oven, here goes...

Way back I used to take a few of the $20s from the farm stand receipts and keep a pile of them in the house for use. Then the winter came along and I forgot about them. Halfway through the next summer I found them in the basement. It was damp down there and they were all mildewed. I took the pile of them and tossed them in the clothes washer with a little soap. When they came out I put them in the dryer. They came out just fine. Did not use bleach.
My memory gets dim with age but I think I heard that 180F is required to get rid of it.

Wouldn't trust the oven as a stash. Too many times we put something in there to dry, then went to preheat the oven a week later. Came back to find all the racks coated with melted plastic.

I place it in a zip up lunch bag and then in the freezer at -10 fahrenheit until I need a bit.
The coronavirus is not a living organism; you can't kill it like bacteria. I understand it has a fatty coating, thus soap and water, alcohol, etc.

Yes, the UV-C flashlight sanitizes the irradiated surface in seconds.
You can micro wave the bills

As an aside, somewhat related, I had a tenant pay rent in cash.
Well, having to go to the bank I fashioned a bandanna Jesse James style and looked in the mirror.
Having shoulder length gray hair and a lot of Cherokee blood my wife said I looked like a bank robber in an old western.
So, I donned my black STETSON and drove to the bank.
Arriving at the window, they all knew me at this branch, I announced “I put all my money in the bag, don’t even think about hitting the alarm!”

I’ve been wondering about the microwave. Seems like it should destroy viability but not sure.
Anyone know for sure this works?
