This is quite interesting as the numbers released through the EU are quite different from what we are getting told here in the US

Not sure where you are getting the numbers, but those are almost exactly the numbers I'm getting each day.
I just google coronavirus and click on coronavirus by state. It brings up state, national, and global numbers and they match the numbers at the EU link within a percentage or two.

Total number of worldwide cases from Eu are in agreement; but no new deaths being reported in U.S.???
This headline from CNN: US reports most coronavirus deaths in one day as 1,344 die on Saturday

CNN's numbers agree with those released by Johns Hopkins University.
JHU is the authority regularly accepted for the US;
if something differs from the JHU count, I would seriously question the other count.

What is wrong with the 1344 death toll?
This virus is a killer!!!
The JHU toll has gone continually upward.

added: This site reports roughly a thousand fewer cases that JHU does, but more deaths.
Their "New deaths" count is for today; apparently no deaths have been reported yet for April 5.

If you look at the top, it was updated within the last 15 minutes - many countries are showing no new cases.

This timeline "starts" on 01 April.

US will continue to show most as it is testing the most. This includes asymtomatic cases. Also, for all nations, early tests showed an unsatisfactory number of false negatives.

CNN reporting is political. Use an unbiased source if there is one.

JHU's reporting is non-political, unbiased!!

I specifically sited their count of new DEATHS (which was reported as zero) which is absurd and casts doubts as to their “new cases” numbers.

So you are suggesting that only the information that agrees with your world view is unbiased?

One cannot say it is unbiased without seeing the metadata.

JHU may be unbiased, but JHU lists WHO as a source.

WHO supports Chinese handling and reporting so the data is not unbiased, though JHU may be.

Again, I do not know if an unbiased report can be found.

If you believe there is bias, and you claim it is political, what is your theory about why it is being promoted? World stocks have taken a dive. People are unemployed and/or not getting paid. Plenty of anecdotal evidence of deaths is available. Bias suggests intentional distortion of facts. Who is benefitting from doing so?

I am not going to engage in a political argument.
If you believe it, fine.

The update is for new deaths also - no new deaths "reported" in the last 15 minutes. The total deaths is also what the U.S. is reporting.

According to McAfee, this is a risky site. While that may not necessarily be a "flashing red light", it certainly serves as a warning for me. I'll take McAfee's word on its security/safety, and by extension, its legitimacy and veracity.

YMMV (Your mileage may vary).
