Need advice

I am using an Email program called "windows live mail". I need to change from POP to IMAP. I see the box in the servers tab in accounts where it shows POP and IMAP should go but I've tried just about everything I can read on the internet and nothing has worked.
Anybody use the program and know how this is done. Looking on the internet it should be very simple but so far I haven't been able to change it?

Thanks for any comments in advance.
Huey

Windows live mail is not the best for imap. I would recommend switching to another mail program like thunderbird. There are many to choose from that are much better than the native windows product.

I use Thunderbird, but I haven't set up an account in it in a LONG time.
Should be straight forward though.

Whoever you are using for email service (Gmail, Cox, Comcast, Verizon, Yahoo....etc....) should have a FAQ on how to set up Thunderbird (my preference) or Outlook using IMAP.

I guess I didn't explain. I have a couple other mail programs that work fine. I just prefer to use Windows Live Mail as it does somethings I like better.
