Actually, the "softness" is what I like about the photo. Some photos don't need to be tack sharp !
I agree with a comment by R.G. The brightness of the moon and the light in the street is way beyond the dynamic range of any camera and to push shadows up would ruin the atmosphere in my humble opinion. I would put the camera on a tripod for the street and expose for that, and then shoot the moon separately and correctly exposed, finally blending the two images together for the final image.
