Just my mood this morning--very nice shot of what looks like a warm, dusty day.

Love western scenes and this one is really very nice, rmm.

Enjoyed your image Jim. That and the title remind me of a song "...driftin' along with the tumbling tumbleweeds" Thanks Bev

I dunno, Bev, and thanx back atcha.... but I only ever heard heard it sung, 'drifff-tin' a-long with thuh tumm-bul-in' tum-bul-weeeeds.' 'Course I only ever heard it warbled by some weird grizzled galloot in a ten gallon cowboy hat, and there probably is a version closer to yours....

You're right. Son's of the Pioneers was the first group to do it, but Marty Robbins is the one I remember:

All this from your image............photography certainly is great. Enjoy Bev

Another great image. The Conastoga wagon is correctly given credit for moving folks across the country, but it was farm wagons such as this, perhaps a Peter Schuttler, that played an instrumental role in settling it.

Jim ..., one of my favorite shots .., it speaks volumes .., so many elements at work here ...I looked for James Arness.. , John Wayne .., and A few others .., they blew away with the tumbleweeds ..,

Ok, so Dr.Nikon (who I typically just refer to as 'Doc') fired me off a couple of re-makes of this shot via a PM, and I like 'em, so I'm gonna re-post them. Doc (better known in the UHHniverse as 'Dr.Nikon') is certifiably crazy. And that's probably why I like him. Below is the text of the message he sent along with his b&w re-makes:

..found the same picture in an attic in a box labeled Circa 1898 ..., samples attached ..

Normally I would print and then burn the edges .. Wrinkle it .. hammer it .., rescan ..run through the programs And send it out ...

A sharp eye would detect the light on the pole top left by the Bldg...so not Circa 1898 .., but who’s counting ..
Looks like an old one ..

Like I said: Doc is certifiably crazy.
