Auto ISO setting on 5Dii

I've read that when the 5Dii is in Aperture mode and with ISO set to Auto, then if the shutter speed falls too low, say below 1/30, the ISO will be increased so that the shutter speed will be 1/30 or faster.
And further, the minimum shutter speed can be selected.
But when I choose Auto for my ISO, I cannot set the minimum shutter speed. The manual is no help.
Am I wrong? Then what does Auto ISO do when in Aperture mode?
