Certainly some fun shots here. I also really like taking flower pictures and use Luminar but have found many of my shots a tad off in WB so I shoot a gray card or a color card to get it more as seen. It's so easy to manipulate pictures with software to the point of ruining a great shot. Some purple pictures are very prone to having off WB and seem to have to much yellow in the picture. So get your shot then take a picture of the gray card afterwards and using the eye dropper you'll get much more accurate colors. Sometimes the light isn't there and I pull out a flash with modifier and lightly bump it up and the color is fantastic. You caught some dreamy shots (of which the blur is the desired effect, esp. if the ground is nothing to look at). Cheers

Kaib, Thank you very much, I have a Gray card and a Gary Fong dome but don't use them much unless I get Serious, most of the time it's just a fun shot to me.

Here's a shot similar to yours but getting low you can see what is hidden, it's like there's a flower wish bone hidden inside. This is a wonderful flower to capture but the stems are long and easily blow in the wind. Early morning shots are best as the light is great and the wind is non-existent. I now take a tripod clamp that gently holds the flower while attached to the tripod to steady it but most of the time I just don't take flower pictures on windy days.

The next two shots are of a Pink Hibiscus showing how yellow the shot was as taken but using a gray card allowed me to correctly represent it's color (and the leaves are much richer looking). I try to use a gray card all the time but as things go, once in a hurry all these things fall to the wind. Cheers

Here's the trick to better shots with a flash. Sure the modifier works but what really makes a difference is getting the flash off the camera and off to the side and sometimes slightly behind me so it's not harsh. I use a light flash stand (or tell my daughter to hold it ... yeah over there, Sweetie!) and keep shooting. Indoors if the ceiling isn't to high, always bounce the flash to the ceiling and at times I've even bounced it to the corner of the room and got great effects on portraits and that was without a modifier. You can even back up to a wall and turn the flash backwards to bounce light forward (as long as you aren't a giant who would block out the light, LOL). Sometimes just playing around I find very interesting effects to give a totally different look, all in camera and not through software (except the very nice bracket shot HDR pictures, software brings those together wonderfully). Cheers

I love 5, 8, 9, 10. I see you used a Sigma art 56mm. I have a 50mm Sigma Art. I may just have to haul my whole camera bag across the street though I am reluctant since the oak and wisteria pollen is in force now.

I change the white balance a lot of times in soft ware, it changes the mood of the picture in witch I like.

Thank you Dodie, much appreciated, Ya my left eye has been watering for two days now, much better today but been raining all day.

That Sigma is one of the sharpest lens I own, bought it for my APC Sony a 6000, to bad it wont work on my full frame, I bought to shoot the streets with but for now were grounded.
