I just got an email that says Ritz is closing their doors. About 5 stores will be re-opened in November under new management. Everything in their stores is 20-40% off original price.

Wolf Camera in Sarasota, FL will also close their doors at the end of this month. As expected, their 40%-60% liquidation will only include light fixtures, shelving, frames, etc. The "goodies" will most likely go to other camera stores. Can't treat customers the way the do and expect to stay in business... bye, bye!
I am at Ritz in Towson, MD. All cameras and lenses are 10% off retail. Everything else is 20% TO 40% OFF. Not exactly great prices.

They won't be missed by many, open or closed.
I was at Ritz in Orlando today and found nothing of interest that couldn't be bought online at a better price. All the good lens and bodies were about the normal price. Forget it Ritz, I am over it.

No - Ritz bought Wolf out of bankruptcy the first time in about 2001. Wolf and Ritz are (were) owned by cousins. Chuck Wolf and David Ritz. I worked at Wolf during the first bankruptcy. Very sad situation.

Stopped by my local Ritz camera shop yesterday (9/14) and I was too late, it was empty. Sign said they moved everything to a shop somewhere on the Las Vegas strip. But I figured that what others said they raised their prices 50% so they can sell them at a 40% discount, just like Circuit City. I guess some people think they are getting a bargain...Norm
The remaining stock that was left in Ritz/Wolf stores had been bought by liquidation firm. There will only be 6 Ritz/Wolf Superstores left in the country. They will also a photo processing lab in Hapeville GA. But my understanding is that it will be to fulfill their on line orders etc. They had then about 5 Sony SLT AV 55's on the shelf. Some various point and shoots and miscellaneous accessories that were generally over priced non name brand merchandise.
