I see you're new - often it's difficult to know who (newcomers especially) are referring to in their comments. The solution? When you want to respond (say to me) just hit the "quote reply" box you'll see at the bottom of every post, write your response in the new box, hit send and by some technical magic we'll all be able to make out who you're addressing ![/quote]

And, just for giggles, on your profile add where you are located. I'm kinda nosey, I like to see where a responder is located. Yes, I know, that is not necessarily where the photo/image/photograph is taken, but it's nice to get some idea which part of the world the responder/op occupies.

Among my friends, we decided long ago that these should our second to last dying words to our loved ones. “Don’t sell my camera stuff for what I told you I paid for it!”

I think I messed up all these years and told my wife what I really spent for my camera gear. That has resulted in a trip for US to her favorite jewelry store to locate a new shinny thing for her. So a $3500 camera actually only cost me about $7,000 to $8,000 depending upon how shinny her thing was. Happy wife makes a happy photographer!

I have accumulated 500 different bottles of whisky over the years - mostly single malts - from about 20 different countries. Hmmm? I wonder what my wife or daughter will do with that. Sell it off at 2% of true value? Or throw a week long wake with all our friends & family (that’s what I’d do)!

I would say that the thing to do with those 500 bottles is to start comparing the contents.

Of course that doesn't mean you have to drink a lot because you have to compare each bottle to 499 others, so you can only taste 1/499th of a bottle at a time. Maybe even less, because by the time you get through them you might have forgotten how the first two compared. So you'll have to start over.

My wife is also into photography and also knows the price of my guitars, And is waiting for the day she can sell my Old Les Paul Custom and camera equipment. What she does not keep for herself.

I should probably label my stuff so my daughters know which I used, what had sentimental value to me, and what I hadn’t gotten around to jettisoning. What I paid years ago doesn’t matter, even if I could remember now; all that matters is what people are willing to pay now.

To all who've taken the trouble to "join in" many thanks from a somewhat different island off the European mainland where things are changing pretty rapidly - well, we DID leave the EU only 2 months ago !!

Enjoy the fun, hell participate more if you want !

To those who have responded "that can apply to many/all hobbies", or something similar ....... yep, and I "snaffled" it from the respondee to one of my "biker" friend's fb posts, and thought "that can apply to lots of UHH togs I read about" - so, hands up, I'm guilty !

Isaguy - just open the bottle and start enjoying - plenty more in reserves in "the Highlands".

jerryc41 - we're so used here to Salvation Army "brass bands" that it'd be real fun to see an eighty-piece ukelele band !

wulffm - you old soak, you - how many of those 500 bottles have ya' swigged? Maybe your ladies haven't "acquired the taste" - don't take the risk, old fella, enjoy it now !

You folks in the US have a far greater population than us. You'll see larger "bad news" figures than us - do as you're asked and we all hope those numbers, being relative, will soon follow those countries in a more advanced stage than us. It make take longer than we all hope/think - please make sure you're all still with us to come out the other end !
To all who've taken the trouble to "join in&q... (show quote)

Hey Crag, this has been a very enjoyable/entertaining post. Thanks.

Hey Gene - Texas is a rather large state, so saying you live in "central Texas" barely helps the likes of me who has been to Texas - that's like Robin Hood saying to the sheriff's men "you might find me in Sherwood Forest" !!
