Good question, from the photo it looks like it was close for sure. I took the photo about 3 years ago. My memory is not letting me remember if he was safe or out, so I guess I well have to go back into the archive and see if I have the few photos of the sequence and see. Thanks for looking in..

When I used to shoot sports, I always shot in bursts, so I didn't miss anything. Even back in the 35mm days, my Canon A1 had a motor drive that shot 5 fps. I remember once my shutter stuck at the beginning of a new roll; 36 exp in about 8 seconds, what a fun way to waste a roll of film.

Ok, I found the next couple that followed in sequence,
looks like he was SAFE, catcher missed the ball.
I think he may have been even the catcher had caught the ball.

Thanks so much. My father played pro baseball in 1945 &46. He loved the game and continued to play as I entered high school, when he switched to softball. He finally gave it up in 1984 at 58yrs. On Sundays it was always normal to go to church then to a double-header.
