Overcast and light rain today. Wanted to get a few more shots of the hummers before they leave for the winter. Taken with K5 and Sig 70-300 APO DG
I live in house on a one acre lot full of trees and colorful flowers. I have placed several humming bird feeders full of nectar around the lot and, guess what? NO HUMMERS! How do you attract them? what type of clowers do you have?
Do you have a lot of reds? They like that color. Also try a butterfly bush. It puts out a beautiful smell, and I think it draws them in too. Also get your feeders up early. Erv

Ditto what Erv said. I have put out the feeders for a number of years now and I think they remember where the feeders and flowers are and come back every year. As for the flowers, I planted several Lantana (red and yellow) and they seem to love it. Hope you get some visitors next year.
