Odd question.
My wife would like me to attempt having one of my photographs made into a set of place mats for the dinner table. Does anyone have a clue where I should begin??
Told you it was an odd question. Thanx.
I saw that too, but I don't see place mats.
Begin by taking photos of something you like....maybe a picture of a place setting for a place setting haha

Just be happy it's not your portrait and she requested a doormat!
;)
Well you should find out if she wants seasonal place matts!
Does she like:
actors, animals(birds, cats, dogs, deer...) buildings, fields, flowers, mountains, religion, trees....... or something as simple as silverware placement?
Get an idea of what she'd like to see on the table under the food that she's going to be eating!
It will be up to you to make sure that the place matts developed by you won't be offensive to others that will be invited over for a meal.
ie: she didn't make the you did!!!

Check with WalMart. They do a lot of weird photo surfaces there now like blankets, wall hangings, mugs, and other stuff. It wasn't at WalMart but I even saw a photo toilet seat lid somewhere. Be glad she doesn't want your portrait there!
I would get an enlarged photo, right now on special at Big W. $3 12 X 16", maybe another piece of card stock or cardboard for the back to give it a bit more stiffness. Then have it laminated.

Actually I have gone to Staples and essentially have done the same thing but with2 large pics back-to-back before lamination. Given as gifts intially and then sold sets of 4 placemaqats for 25.oo back about 10 years ago.
