I have owned Nikons since the early sixties starting with a Nikon F and predominately using 105/ f2.5. and numerous other Nikon lenses over the years. Currently I have a Nikon D7500 ( I appreciate the light weight) with a 16-80 f2.8 and other DX lenses.
I have been not used the camera for several months. After charging the battery, I went to take some shots and the camera would not autofocus with multiple different lenses. However, I am able to manually focus. I did check and the lenses are set for M/A. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I don't have a 7500 but is the focus selection on the body set to "A"?

Is the focus mode selector switch also set to AF? Both the lens and the camera need to be set for autofocus for autofocus to function.
Did you set your camera for BBF? I have a Canon but have set my last two cameras to use BBF.

Clean the contacts if all else fails.
I had the same thing happen to my 300s. One day it worked and then just stopped. I took it to the local repair shop and found it cost more then it was worth to fix providing he could find the part.
I have a D7500. Did you check this switch on the camera body?
I do and because of time not using camera and advancing age i forgot THANKS!

Try the two button reset to return the camera to it's default settings.

What was the solution?
I think he was referring to making sure he had the M/F focus switch set to AF.
Any chance you could of accidently hit/switched the lock/L lever on the focus selector lock ?
