I mentioned in another post I wanted to try and composite a swing into this tree. That was some tedious work masking that swing. I think it still looks not quite right but I'm not sure how to fix it. Other than that I think its a nice peaceful rainy spring day.

The first thing that strikes me as not being right here, is the branch is not as level to the ground as swings are usually hung. Riding one like this would be lopsided. In other words the ropes should be the same length.

I think it's the angle (from our viewpoint) of the seat too:

Your other b/w had the swing on a single line like we had when I was a country boy in Massachusetts. Perhaps that would solve your issue.

I think you are right. I matched the slope of the ground and it should have been level.

I will have to play with it. I'm not sure if angling it the other way works until I see it level as well. Thanks for trying it.

Thank you ma'am. I used a HDR preset in Topaz and then backed it down about 50%. A little HDR goes a long way.

That would certainly give it a reason to be crooked.

What patience you must have. The masking might have been tedious but you done good Keni. One thing that would add to the realism is to wrap the ropes back under the limb and tie them off.

Jack I ain't that good. Wrapping and tying virtual ropes is a little above my payscale. 🤣🤣🤣 I bet there is a tutorial for it out there somewhere though.

Once you educate the natives the battle is lost. The huge dose of processing has obliterated detail and no one would guess this was a composite. So unless you value the gold star for masking work, say zilch next time and bask in the plaudits from them that just does not know.

Toleman I think the PP Forum tries to be about teaching and learning so discussing the techniques and processes you use is central to that process. I wouldn't know the little bit I know today if it were not for the these types of discussions and demonstrations to pique my interest and fire my imagination. Hopefully I can do the same for someone else.

Please explain, Toleman. Given your short posting history on UHH, I don't want to mis-interpret.
