While waiting for the high school sports season to resume, I walked to the backyard and saw this azalea blooming. As mentioned earlier, I'm learning to shoot jpegs with my Z6 so I won't have to process so many raw files when we go on vacation. However, I am still having to do the tweaks in LR because I haven't mastered the sooc techniques with jpegs yet. So raw or jpeg, I'm still twerking, oops, I mean tweaking......

Thanks guy. Shooting jpegs is like shooting Tri-X film, while trying to keep the grain out....ha ha

More like shooting transparency film to me, but these are really nice.
I’ve been looking at the Z6 myself if I ever have to replace my D810

I have had a ball shooting the Z6 for high school basketball and volleyball games. I feel like a little kid at Christmas every time I chimp the pictures that I shoot. There are some Sports Illustrated cover shots. The images are so much more brilliant and sharp and crisp than I was getting with my D3s. The D3s is a beast at very low light photography around 10-12,000 ISO and it gives me some great images, but it was an earlier generation of capture technology. The D3s is great for portraits because it gives me a softer, less harsh and low noise image. But the Z6 is a whole 'nother paradigm for low light..... I give it 2 thumbs up for sports and action shots--however, I understand that birders are having a difficult time latching onto focus with it because they say that the AF is slower than the D500. I have to believe them because I have similar issues when I shoot little kids age 4-8. They are just not large enough in the viewfinder's target square and often I miss the focus when I move that red square target a mm or so off center. Nikon devotes a page in it's manual about shooting subjects that are smaller than the target square is---the illustration says to fill the target with the subject. But the heads on those kids are so small in the viewfinder---lol.... I wish there was a way to make the AF red target square smaller so it would cover their faces.

If you can rent one from your camera store, give it a try and I think you'll be pleased.

I have three pro friends who love theirs. One is a photographer for the Kansas City Chiefs. They can’t say much negative about it. I’ve played with a few at a store. It feels great in the hands too.

Thanks. Are you anywhere near Munchie? I spent a couple of days there back a few years ago.
