Close-up, or Not??

Could these shots that I took a week or so ago, in South Carolina, be considered "close-up? Taken with a Pentax 150-450 lens.........................................................................................................RJM How close must one be? It's as CLOSE as I could get.

In my humble opinion they could be considered close ups! They are great shots but the first one has the birds overexposed!

True that, they are.!! I guess the light source was just too .."CLOSE-UP" And i;m neither a comedian, nor pro photographer. Thanks for your comments and critiques hadn't really noticed the over exposure> BOB

The are nice photos of birds but it would never occur to me to call them close ups.

We don't have strict rules on closeup, Bob, and your beautiful egret portraits are certainly close enough for me! I'm glad you posted them here.
