Preying Mantis

My 9 year old son found this guy in the backyard so I decided to do some portrait work. He was a willing participant.
Nikon D7000 at ISO 1000 with Tamron 90-mm macro lens, 1/125-sec at f/22.

Nice captures. Using a 90-mm macro puts you at about 6-inches Working Distance. What length of mantis? Most likely a larger female.

I would say it was about 3-3.5 inches in length.
