On a drizzling, windy morning with a flat grey sky. This Arch is 291 ft. wide and I believe the widest in North America.

Great angle; great shot. I need to see that for myself someday.

To bad you couldn't put someone on top to show just how wide 291' is. Great pic.

Good shot, Jim. Twenty-five years ago there was a side trail people could hike that took them up beneath the arch. That trail was eliminated when on two separate occasions, large (estimated in the tons) blocks of rock fell out of the underside.

Still a nice shot considering the circumstances.

Nice shot. The arch looks a litttle fragile.

Agreed, nice shot. I think delicate arch and landscape arch should switch names.

Thanks Cany. We were there in the spring of 1994 and I think they had signs posted then just warning about using that trail. In those days the walk out to the arch was on a dirt trail. It had been raining and the trail was muddy and my wife decided to return to the truck before seeing Landscape Arch. Made several more trips after that and on one of them, the trail had been closed and no climbing was allowed. Times change and the crowds grew!!
