How many have had weddings cancelled or postponed due to the Covid-19 outbreak?

My daughter's studio has had virtually every wedding scheduled in Spring postponed.

6 postponements thus far. Of course, this is a loss of revenue but the thought of a room, house of worship, or reception venue with hundreds of folks in close quarters is a frightening scenario. Better to lose money than one's health and that of all the folks in attendance. In my city, the major hotels, catering establishments, and restaurants that can accommodate weddings have all closed down for the duration.

Hopefully, after the virus subsides, plans will be reinstated. We are in contact with all our clients and have assured them that we will accommodate them when their plans are established. We offered the return of all retainers and deposits but so far, all of the clients have opted to keep the booking intact until the solidify their plans.

The wedding book for late July and August are still holding out for hopefully good news.

Y'all out there...stay healthy, hunker down, be kind to each other and we'll all survive and prosper!

leads started of surprisingly low for this year to begin with. Had 2 meetings set up that have been postponed, and one cancel, except you know that story. The groom just decided that he didn't want a wife, and HIS 4 kids as a responsibility.

Once the quarantine stuff stops, I will be doing family photos of her and the kids to make use of the deposit money. She cried when I told her, she knew that the deposit was non-refundable, and said "my kids are my life, you are amazing, and thank you so much for offering up something to avoid losing all that money"

We both win this way. I think ultimately, she dodged a bullet by the wedding falling through if he's that type of a guy. I met with them twice, and NEVER got that vibe. My jerk detector must need batteries.

Of course, business is severely affected by the pandemic. At his point, however, I am not concerned about business or money issues because the health and welfare of my family, the crew at the studio and myself are job one!

Folks are having financial strain, job loss, and illness so my own policy is to return deposits, which are ordinarily not refundable in the event of client cancellation, however, theses postponements and cancellation due to the pandemic are not the clients' fault. So far, everyone is hanging in there as per the reinstatement of postponed weddings. Many of these contracts were booked between 6 months and a year ago.

There will be many weddings and celebrations to attend and photograph to look forward to in the future. I don't want to have to attend anyone's funeral. So...let all stay home, stay well and help others to stay well!

HAHA, I never thought of that...

I may threaten to close the business again. Seems like every time I do that, I end up with a record breaking year.

Right now, just working for the hospital, trying to keep enough supplies in stock to service the influx of Covid-19 patients, as well as the regular crowd of patients. We're actually going to look into devoting entire floors of the hospital, so the workers don't have to blow through 6,000 isolation gowns a day. Work for a Hospital, and this gets surreal... Like trying to locate (if it comes to this) enough walk in coolers for bodies, because we don't have enough morgue space if it gets as bad as some estimates.
