Near my house is an old ranch/orchard that is quite photogenic at times - it is on a very busy , narrow, 2 lane hwy - the only place to pull over is in front of gates into the area that have no-trespassing signs on them - the property is owned by a 80+ yr lady who just has had it with trespassers -one prime day I pulled into one of those safe parking spots - within view of the ranch house - sure enough soon appeared an angry old lady telling me about not trespassing on her property I explained to her that I respected her signs and had or would not trespass - she ask if I was alone or was someone out on her land - I explained I was alone and why I had stopped today - she said she had a fellow from France do the same thing the day before - I thanked her and promised her a copy soon - that after noon a made a great friend when I delivered her a framed copy of this image.

Watch the little old ladies. Abut 50 years ago we had one. Teenagers would go out at night and taunt her. One night a bunch went out and were scaring her. One was banging on her windows and she shot him dead. Need to obey the signs. - Dave

And from now on, you have access to this land just by stopping by and say hello to her. What a great way to change an old grough into a friend - more or less.

Can't say I have anything particularly interesting to relate, but I've been 'asked to leave' from such places as Mystic Seaport (in CT), Plymouth Plantation (in MA), that time Reagan (that one who was a president) flew into the little airport in Hartford (again, in CT), and three or four other places. Almost all of which were 'back East.' Except for that one time when I was asked to 'get back on the trail' while shooting in Mesa Verde Nat'l Park. I didn't mind that one, though. The young-ish GS5 Ranger was just doing her job, and she didn't know I was there on detail to shoot stuff that had been previously unknown until a fire had exposed things that hadn't been noticed/recorded before.
Apparently, there's something about shooting with anything other than small format equipment that some find intrusive, scary, or smacks of being a 'professional' out to make a buck.
You did the right thing in speaking with the landowner as you say you had. You did a better thing in delivering your framed print. Nice image, btw.

I'll bet that after the little old lady shot the one kid that no one else taunted her again. The kid got exactly what he deserved.

Possibly her vision is clouded from past experiences. You may have shown her the beauty of her land that she once saw, and now sees again. Perhaps you gave her the companionship she so needed. Very well done. Fine image.
