I think I'm almost there.
I was hoping for something familiar, like the way Stellarium can be directed to go here, or go there.
But so far, I'm taking it there, then Plate Solving to get things on track.
Not what I was hoping for.
Plus the Infinity has been a booger to get to cooperate with taking pictures. But that may be coming to an end and working now. But I need to be able to see the darn sky.
Back on your problem....
I've seen where all the drivers had to be removed, then a fresh install. That gets the computer to the correct driver, instead of seeing 4 of the same driver, and not knowing which to open. So it stops.
A friend pointed out he had to remove excess drivers after a bad update was released on a certain camera. The Update lacked the removal stroke, and added drivers on top of drivers, compounding the programs difficulty to open them.
Once the drivers were removed, then a clean install was made, the program worked. But it was the software engineers lack of vision when he modified the program, then his denial his revision had a bug in it.
I hope he is in a soup line somewhere, and not dabbling in code.
Long ago, I needed to eradicate AOL from my computer. I did the removal Windows offered (I think it was Windows 95). But then had to Search for AOL, and found a bunch of carp lurking in the deep places of the hard drive. Once ferreted out, I could remove them and they went out the fan in a cloud of green fart dust.
So maybe you could do a search to seek and destroy duplicate driver files. Or do a remove of the program, then the seek and destroy of the left over drivers.
Once you get a clean search, then do a single, clean install.
If you find a driver file with a 1, or 2, or 3, added to it, those are duplicates and they fubar your computers brain. Clean files don't have added numeric codes.
But when in doubt, don't throw it out. If it warns you it may be in use by another program, and you rip it out, something else might stop working.
So it's kinda like being a monkey picking off bugs. Go slow.
The sky isn't being nice, so you have time right now.
