Dx vs Fx lenses

I have had a D500 camera for several years. I want to invest in a full frame camera in the future. So far i have only purchased FX lenses for my D500 because of my future ff camera purchase. I own a tamron
45 mm F /1.8 among several other Tamron lenses. What would change on my images if I used a DX 45 mm
with my D 500, rather than my FX 45? Just the angle of view?

Nothing should change if you use a DX lens of quality equal to the FX lens you currently use on your D500.

Nothing will change (including the “angle of view”).

DX is lighter, and costs less than FX (generally). That part will change

Thanks Trix, don't have to wonder about that anymore.

Using the 45mm on a full frame body can give you a shallower depth of field because you can get closer to your subject and still have the subject the same size in the frame.

I have a D500, D750, D7500, the Tamron 45mm f/1.8 SP VC, and other lenses. I have used the 45mm on the cropped sensor bodies but I use it on the full frame D750 now. It's great for full length, environmental type portraits.

I took this photo with the Tamron 45mm f/1.8 SP VC lens on my D750

Please do not add confusion.

The OP asked about LENS difference.
This answer is about body difference.

As already been said, assuming that both is set to the same aperture and both has the same IQ, there will be no a difference. A "just OK" FX lens is soft on a DX body, because the crop factor zooms in more on viewing, any faults is more visible in a DX photo.

The D500 is DX, using an FX lens on it wont matter because it will just not register the parts of the image cast outside its sensor. It will be cropped off.

If on the other hand it was an FX body and assuming no other thing is changed, then you will see a bigger field of view with the FX lens. DX on FX will show a cropped field or if set to no crop, will show the edge of the lenses cast image.

The DX may not be as sharp as the FX on the edges and corners. The sensor will only see the sweetest part of the FX image.

Re-read his post. The question is about lenses but he's also considering a full frame camera.
"I want to invest in a full frame camera in the future"

but the question asked was " What would change on my images if I used a DX 45 mm

This is the sort of question that leads people to falsely think they change the angle of view of pictures by just changing from a DX lens to an FX lens. As long as the OP uses a DX camera, there is no change in angle of view.. We need to say this often and emphatically.

That is precisely why I specified that the lenses have to be of the same quality.

The lens question had already been answered. Since he says he wants to purchase a full frame camera in the future. I thought I would address that part of it.

You're nitpicking. He wants to get a full frame camera. Nothing wrong with addressing that part.
