C***D - 19 test question!

Why can’t they have sterile test strips that you can use to self test and drop off at a designated location without getting out of your car?
This will eliminate the risk to on site testers and the accidental spread between patients.

The better question is why don’t we have massive testing of any kind yet? The answer is that the infected numbers would shoot up and that would look bad for the Administration. Meanwhile the v***s spreads and we don’t know how fast and where to.

I saw a question answered on TV that is similar. The test they perform requires a deep throat swab and a nasal swab that goes very high up in order to get a valid sample. If not done correctly, the person would possibly get a false negative. They could spend loads of time processing samples that were taken wrong and that takes away from people that really need it.

The vast majority can read and follow instructions.
From the way they explained it,
the drive up testers are having to Change their hazmat suits and mask after every test to eliminate cross contamination.
That’s why I thought it would make more sense and be a lot less expensive to self test and drop off.

Testing requires sticking one swab up the nose an uncomfortable distance and sticking another into the throat. Many people would only do this half-way and not get accurate results. They are starting drive-through screenings where potential patients do not get out of their cars.

You can't conjure test kits out of thin air. Production needs to be ramped up, quality tested and confirmed, and then distribution.

The worst thing would be many unreliable test kits out in the 'wild'. You people who complain about costs need to realize that these things are complex, although they seem simple to be a simple 'test' kit to you.

Get a grip on reality.

For the test to be accurate, the swab must be placed AND swabbed at the far back of the nasal cavity. This is a little uncomfortable. An untrained individual may not conduct the test accurately, perhaps rendering incorrect results.
