We live in a nice, fairly busy neighborhood in close proximity to schools and shopping and found it surprising that this kind would take up residence here, but we certainly welcome them. They are a pair and they hatched twelve chicks. I got pictures of them when only a day or two old but, unfortunately none survived. Sorry about photo quality. I shot through double pane window and zoomed in.

It is a Chukar partridge, and they do look well fed! :lol:
They are, indeed, Chukars and they certainly are not indigenous to this locale. We're hoping they stay the winter and breed again.
