I have a Minolta 50/3.5 MD MACRO lens that I would like to try and use on a Sony A 350 will I need a converter/adapter for this to mesh up. I really think I will have to use manual focus here but that's not a problem just want to be able to use this lens on this camera....any thoughts????

Unless the adapter has built in optics, I don't think you will get infinity focus on your A330. But it should work fine for close ups.

Yes, if you want infinity the adapter will have optics - and this will impact resolution. But he adapter without optics should be OK for close-ups.

Could you give me the name of said adapter so that I might look for one on eBay

There are some suggestions here: https://briansmith.com/minolta-md-mc-lens-mount-adapters-sony-e-mount/

Fotodiox, Metabones are some the brands, but there are others.

I have experience with this very lens, if it's the one I think. All you need is a cheap adapter, such as item number 113544221267 on eBay. You'll have manual focus but isn't that lens manual focus to start with?

Yes, he will have manual focus. But with the A350, he won't have infinity focus. Only close up focus. To get infinity focus would require a different kind of adapter that has optics in it to allow for infinity focus and it will also work like a teleconverter with an increase in focal length along with the downside image quality issue all TC's are known for.

If he had a mirrorless camera, which have a shorter flange distance, than infinity focus with a cheap adapter would be no problem at all.

Exactly, as I have on my A7II. But was he even worried about that? Or just using it as a macro? I don't know that camera but does it have focus peaking? I don't believe that there's a choice otherwise.

Yes, he will have manual focus. But with the A350... (show quote)

There appears to be one on eBay with the optics. I'm not sure though because it's not mentioned but the photo of the adapter appears to have it. Item #15009530143. Fotodiox Lens Adapter Minolta MD to Sony A Mount New Old Stock FREE SHIPPING!! A question to the seller should clear it up. It appears to be the only one and it's not expensive. Hurry up!

Whoa, there. Need to check on the sellers ratings. I know where people buy an adapter from a picture and what they get is not what was in the picture.

The UPC number is given and looking up that UPC number, it does have the glass (provided that someone hasn't removed it). But the image does look like it has glass.

The seller has only sold 2 items on eBay and both gave him a 5.0.

The seller I posted, has over 2,000, 100% positive feedback. You have to look further down the page. You're looking at the adapter rating. Just ask the seller. The UPC code may may be incorrect. I think it's safe. Besides eBay has your back with 100% guarantee against not receiving what you ordered.

K&F Concept makes adapters. They are in China and ship from there. I bought an adapter for my Lumix GX85 to use my Nikon lenses.

I have not used it yet so can't say how well it works.

It took two weeks for shipping from China and the order was smoothly processed.

With the Coronavirus , shipping from China may take longer than the two weeks shipping for my order.
