Lost focus beeps on Canon SX40

I don't get the double beep when focused. I know it's a crutch but I like it. Did I turn it off on set up? I want it back. Help

Resetting your camera is one way to do it, but once you have some custom settings I wouldn't recommend doing that unless absolutely necessary. Find the problem by reading the manual or waiting for some more replies from members. It was probably a simple thing like a menu setting, or perhaps you change it to AI servo focus instead of Single shot focus. Single shot gives the audible beep for focus lock but since AI Servo doesn't 'lock' focus there's no audible beep.
