Is my Canon A-1 and lens Sigma 100-200 F/4.5 worth anything???
Cleaning out my gear and this was back in the corner from days gone by.
You can go to a used reseller like KEH and see what they're selling them for, about $150 for the camera and $35 for the lens. If in great shape and you're lucky, you might get the around the same price selling on ebay. But, there's really not a market for consumer-grade manual focus film equipment. The FD mount lenses can now be used as-is on mirrorless digital cameras, so there has been an uptick in the FD lens popularity, but really only for the premium f/2 and wider versions.

I don't know about the Sigma lens it probably isn't worth much. I bought my A-1 with the 50mm f/1.8 lens for $17 and it's in very good condition.

The canon A-1 in mint condition goes anywhere from $100.00 to about $200.00. The lens goes from about $6.00 to about $45.00 depending on condition.

Photography students who are getting into film often look for such equipment on ebay and craigslist. I have sold some very old (1960s) camera and darkroom equipment to very appreciative students. Just compare prices, ask a fair price, and make a kid happy. Good luck.
When I sell used gear I first look up what I'm selling on ebay to see what people are asking. And then I post my stuff there.
An A-1 that's been sitting unused for years is almost certainly going to need a Clean/Lube/Adjust, at the very least. I bet it has the notorious "shutter squeal" that all Canon A-series cameras tend to get. That's a sign the old lubricants need to be removed and new ones applied. It also may need new light seals. $125 for the CLA, last time I had one done on an A-1. And that was some years go. I was given the camera for free, along with a couple lenses and some other accessories.
eBay is a good source of info about values. Do a search that's as specific as possible, then click on "sold" items to see what prices people are actually paying. You'll probably need to look at a number of listings to see what's included, condition, and other costs such as shipping that might be charged.

People ASK all kinds of prices on eBay, from low to crazy high. Better to look at SOLD prices to see what people are actually PAYING.
A Canon A-1 is easily worth $100.00 or more.

Wow. I have one like that that was purchased new... I guess film photography gear isn’t worth much, unless it’s collectible.
If such be the case, put it on line. State in your post that it needs work and start it at a low bid.
Quoted the wrong person. Sorry.

You can always donate to a high school camera club, or local 4-H club with a camera club component. Possibly tax deductible if they have a tax ID # or 401 c 3# for you. (I can't ever remember which is needed, just think they need to be a non-profit.) I donated some gear a couple years ago to a local high school, including my Beseler 23-C enlarger with all the attachments which had been sitting, covered, since the late 70's. And making all my moves with me in the military and after!
I Posted this in the wrong spot in the list & couldn't figure out how to delete that one. Sorry.
