I love that plane! As a kid I built models of it in the 70's.

Did you learn the work at Millington NAS?

Beautiful! Smells like Victory! My father was an AF fighter pilot; flew them from the P-47 to the F-4. He loved the F-4. Me too. Thanks for the great shot.

I went to "A" school for electronics at Millington NAS. The work on the F-4 specifically was on-the-job training in VF-84 in Oceana Virginia. First deployment on an Aircraft Carrier was with that squadron with that airplane.

Excellent shot of a great aircraft, able to take a a lot of abuse and keep flying. They flew out of DaNang when I was there in 68/69.

Yep. And deliver the goods when and where needed, despite a lot of abuse.

LOL! 13,000 sailors and 4,000 Marines! June through Oct of '68 before going to MCAS Cherry Point. Non-mechanical! My Group had A-6, A-4 and F4 squadrons.

Best memories included watching the F-4's run touch and goes at dawn with those twin J-79's glowing. This happened quarterly to burn off excess fuel so our funds wouldn't get cut for lack of use.
