Red-shouldered hawks were as numerous as Red-tails this migratory season. These are some of my favorites. This set ranges from juveniles to breeding adults.

Very nice, rockdog. Red-shouldered hawks are one of my favorites too. They are very photogenic, and so mouthy that it's often possible to catch them with their beaks open. Enjoy and have a good week. jak

Thanks Jak, they get up the coast through your territory but I think we have many year rounders.
Darn, I just noticed I screwed up the title of this post....unfixable!
Great captures, Phil. They are a favorite of mine. This has been a great year for the Red-shoulders, but they have flown the coop here, at the Yolo Bypass and Sacramento NWR, for the most part. I wonder where they go in spring?

Thanks Katy! I have wondered about thier seasonal movement too. I do think I have been seeing them in greater numbers but they get scarce in the valley's hot months.
