Especially for an amateur. That's my 5'10" wife standing next to a GIANT Sequoia in the Yosemite Grove of Giants. What a fantastic place! This was in the days when we used light meters. July 1964.

I like the photo. Is your wife carrying a Twin Rollei or similar?

It was a Yashica twin lens reflex. It used 2x2 c.m. film and produced great images.

Yep, even in great light, I've had a hard time getting the photos I would like in the Sequoia and Redwood groves. But I keep trying. Hey, it's not a half bad photo.

Nice, shows how big those trees actually are, is that film size right 2x2 centimeters? or maybe 2x2 inches? aka 127 roll, I know some TLR's were made in that size. Popular with slide enthusiasts, lot more area than 35mm's 24x36 millimeters. Bob.

Well I was pretty close. I saw what looked like a grey case and remembered my old baby Rolleiflex had a grey case. Pretty sharp lens you used.

My baby Rolleiflex took 127 film. Great camera.

I was wrong. 2x2 inches or 51x51 mm would be correct. Thanks for the heads-up. In any case, All of my transparencies of 127 variety have turned red but still make decent B&W prints.

My copy lens is an old Minolta 50mm f3.5 Macro that is very sharp.

For the time period and what equipment and film was available, it is a great photo. You did excellent with the available lighting. And you even got the pretty young lady to pose for you. That can be a difficult task in and of itself.

If you took more pictures, please post some. Don't see so many photos of Yosemite above the valley floor!
