Help needed in uploading to UHH

I printed out the 3 pages of instructions found in the Help section and I guess I am still doing it wrong because when I "attach", all I get is the statement (download) and I do not see my image. Let's say I want to post to the Challenge. Do I go to Create New Topic or while I am in the Challenges section try to post from there? I am able to reply with text in each section, but for the life of me, I just can not figure out how to attach an image. Where am I going wrong? Any and all help and suggestions would be most welcome.

Bonnie

1. What is the file extension you are trying to post? JPG? JPEG?

2. How large is the file?

If you attach a file that the system cannot render, like .CR2, raw, maybe a TIF,
you will not see a thumbnail preview.

If the download link is generated, and it is a jpg or jpeg, there may be some other information in the metadata that is confusing UHH. I have seen this before, including by a regular participant of Post Processing Forum. Perhaps try a different software to save and different device to upload.

If you still have the issue after checking these things, simply go ahead and post it with only the download link. People will know to click to see

If you want to post to an existing challenge, simply click REPLY anywhere in the thread. You will then see the upload section below your text box. Don't use "quick reply" - that doesn't have the attachment feature.

I posted your answer in your photo gallery thread. Your file was created by an older version of Adobe bridge but I really do not see what is going one there.

I used ACDSee to convert.

Ahhhh.

One work-around is to convert to png.

I printed out the 3 pages of instructions found in... (show quote)

After you select "quote reply" and are done with text, scroll down a little, select "choose file". This will take you to your hard drive. Select the file you sent and click open. Check the box next (store original), and click "add attachment" it will then upload.

One thing I’ve noticed while uploading to UHH is how long it takes. Initially I often thought I had done something wrong but soon learnt to just sit back and wait. While my internet connections download speed is acceptable 17Mbps my upload speed can be as low as 0.8 Mbps.

Just a thought.

Use an internet speed test.
Check with you ISP.

I upload @ 5~10Mps.
Download @ 50~90Mps depending on the time of the day.

UHH is not at fault.
