[quote=PaulG]You've created a wonderful mood here. I love the simplicity but there is enough going on to tickle the imagination.

I agree with Paul. ☝🏽
This one got me to stop and gaze at the picture, then in your workmanship.😊
Be proud this one Dave.👏

My intentions have never been to deceive anyone here or anywhere else concerning the images I post. I believe in full honesty and just for trial and error I thought I would reveal the info later rather than the beginning that this is a three image composite, but the actual lighthouse image was taken in the mid-morning. I added the sky/stars and moon along with a gradient layer and some dodging and burning to create a night time image. This is something I have done in the past and while I enjoy doing them, I will probably do more along the way for my own personal improvements. As I mentioned previously, directional lighting and shadows have been an issue with me and I strive for improvements at any chance I get. Posted are the original lighthouse image, sky/stars and the image I used for the moon. Questions? Happy to answer ... if I can.

I appreciate seeing these images from which you generated your composite. I may have to give it a go sometime. Making a composite. I tend to think of them as illustrations on the covers of books which have not been written.

That one really jumped out at me. I think you nailed it. Shadows look great, perspective is a mind blower. Everything seems to work. I love it.

It's instructive to see the components. I suspected composite initially because I don't think we'd see stars so close to a full moon due to light pollution. But I'm no expert there as I'm hardly ever out after dark anymore

In For Your Consideration I like the idea of having a moment to simply react to the art if that is what the OP wishes to do; whereas in PP Forum I like to see everything provided, or explained, upfront. Just slightly different experiences and purposes, and we see both types of threads on both sites. It's all good

Thanks for commenting Linda, with an opinion that works for me. Stars close to the moon was something I had thought about but ignored. Now that the cat is out of the bag I will possibly remember a different approach to this type of concept, (day to night) composites.

I love your composition and execution, and thank you for explaining and posting the components as it is always educational from my point of view.

After my first impression I was sure of a composition, but because I thought the lighthouse and stairs were from separate images :-D

Glad this had some educational benefits for you juan_uy. Thanks for your feedback.

Glad you benefited from the illustrated images Mark. Composites have been something I have enjoyed doing. Some have been better/easier than others with the more I do. I suppose that would be the case with anything. I do hope you decide to try it yourself. A suggestion would be to keep at it for best results in due time.
