Voss, you really seek out some interesting places to shoot. If I lived down your neck of the woods, I would definitely walk around with you and shoot the locals.

You know, Ken, that's an interesting point. I'm still not sure what the main factors are in a good location. At first I thought it was sheer size of a place. But I get more shots out of some smaller places (Galveston ~50,000 pop. and Laredo ~250,000) than in some much larger cities (Houston, Dallas, San Antonio >1,000,000). And gatherings in parks and fields tend to be worthless (wasted yesterday at a big celebration in a park called Washington-on-the-Brazos). Part of it is local enthusiasm (Galveston). But there's something else, and I haven't figured it out yet. Anyhow, I think you'd like southeastern Texas for sure.

I tend to agree with you, Voss. Many a time I've gone out to shoot and came back with nothing ... a couple of weeks ago went to a huge craft fair ... four shots two were keepers, one street but it was out of focus so bad that I trashed it. You just never know what you can get until "it" presents itself and that could be anywhere.
