Yes this is due primarily to the hormone Oxytocin which dramatically peaks during childbirth...
Widely know as the "cuddle hormone"... it's effects are extremely well documented...

I have been totally consumed tutoring an recently graduated Nurse through her NCLEX-RN exam...
Yes Oxytocin and it's effects are on the NCLEX-RN exam... (and yes she just passed thls exam)
