If you have a raw version it will most likely be workable. Raw files can look a lot worse than this and still have salvageable highlights.

Was the original in RAW? You might be able to salvage a little more. An image like this is about the same as it would be if it were taken on slide film which has historically little tolerance for overexposure. The image is blown out so badly that a lot of the detail in the highlights is pretty much gone. It is not obscured, it is no longer there. Tell your staff member tactfully to SLOW DOWN and think about what he is doing before he pushes the shutter button to avoid completely preventable goofs like this in the future.
