Colors and face beautiful. Unless you were showing the India face shape contrasted to the British face shape, I would crop the left side to the edge of the main costume. This makes the girl the one and only focus of the photo. The young lady takes her dance very seriously as do you making the photo.. great shot.

Excellent photo--great colors. I believe you need both girls to get the waiting feel; cropping one of them out would eliminate the feel of waiting and reduce the photo to an informal portrait. I wouldn’t change a thing.

If that look of poise and elegance is anything to go by she should make a fine dancer.

You have hit the nail on the head, John. Without the second girl, it would have lacked any trace of context it would have been just a grabbed portrait.

That in itself is a worry R.G. She is, at most, thirteen years old and would be a good target for abduction and being trafficked for the sex trade. Education will help her avoid this. She has been taught traditional royal court dancing, not the modern Bangla dancing you see in the Bollywood films.

Abduction of children is common in India.

Thanks.
When I see this picture I worry about what the future holds for her.

If you see those things Steve then the picture is a success from my point of view.

I agree that the colors really work together well in this photo. I love the green wall. Makes the colors in her clothing really pop.

We were all that age once, Graham. It brings back the memories. I remember working on the hair for 30 minutes!!! Now I wash it, brush it once and let it air dry. Time makes a difference.

The wall could do with a lick of paint Erich. The staining is caused by the coconut oil they put on their hair.
