Tea8 Loc: Where the wind comes sweeping down the plain.

Ok, I don't know who remembers, but a couple of weeks ago I asked about entering a fireworks picture under the scenery category at my tiny county fair. Well I decided not to enter the fireworks picture, but I think I did great overall.

I took Second in the Scenery category using a shot I went out and took the next morning after asking all of you your advice. I took First in Animals/Pets and I was extremely happy with that because my family didn't particularly care for the photo I entered. I listened to my inner judgement on it and did it anyway and I'm glad I did. I also took Third in Flowers and also Wildlife.

Now I know this might not seem like a lot to most of you, but this is huge for me. I decided on a lark to enter the county fair last year because I thought I was awesome at taking pics. The highest I had last year was I got second place in a category where the only other person who had entered was disqualified. After that I decided I wanted to get more into photography and so a year later here I am. I feel like I have come a long way since then and I am still growing and have a dream of becoming a professional photographer one day. A lot of what I know came from all of you here sharing what you know and I just want to say THANKS!

I'll look into doing that a little later. I will have to resize them so I can get them to upload on my internet connection. Thanks!

Thanks for all the Congrats everyone! Marco it does feel good to have my art appreciated by people other than my family and friends (they of course love everything I do.)

I hope to only grow from here. I just got back off of vacation so I missed getting to go see the exhibits and other winners of that fair. I would have liked to see the other winners, but there's always next year. I am now preparing to enter for the State Fair. I have to take my pics over there this Saturday and I hope I can do ok there as well. This will be the first time entering it and I am entereing the Amateur category which is for those with 2 years or less experience.

Hang in there I will do my best to get my winning photos resized and posted on here for you to see. I've just been so busy since I got back.

Tea8, congratulations! Everything you posted sounds like something I've been saying. Love posting here and finding out I'm getting better. I remember you saying you were going to enter the fair and I've decided to do it next year also.

Wonderful job and cheers to UHH!
