My D300 came with firmware versions A: 1.02 B: 1.0. Are these the current firmware?
Thanks,
Rick

Did you try google? like: Nikon Support D300
All you have to do is navigate to the 'download center' for this model on
www.nikonusa.com, or your country's language version.
Go to Nikon web site and it will give you the latest firmware for your camera.
You might consider the 'watch' link for a thread.
Just for the edification and instruction of others who may be tempted to make snide comments, it looks like the Support section of NikonUSA's website is not functioning right now via the site navigation buttons. The direct link provided in CO's post does work.
Perhaps I was less than clear, I just want to know the current version. I downloaded the lastest with no problems but the file has a generic name and not what version it is. The process of getting it into the camera is a bit tedious so if I could avoid it having the latest already that would be great. Alas I'm just going to have to do it.

You have to go into the Setup menu and scroll down to firmware version.
I found the detailed instructions on the Nikon site which cleared up my question about transferring the firmware updates to the memory card in the camera.
I followed the instructions to upload the A firmware, install, format the card, upload the B firmware and repeat.
Worked like a charm!
Once again, thanks to all who helped out.
