Cool!
Makes me wish I could have seen the means by which a small orifice was positioned above the intended apex of that pile of seeds and how the smooth flow of seeds was maintained until the desired height and diameter was attained!
An interesting, imaginative effort (IMHO).
Looks like the pile of sand in the bottom of an hourglass...absent the glass!

Thanks Dave.
Originally the ceramic sunflower seeds had been spread over the floor in an even layer with visitors able to walk through them. However, it was creating a lot of dust which was suspected to be harmful. There were 100 million of the hand made, hand painted 'seeds' in the original exhibit.

That answers my question of whether they were salted or unsalted!! I think I like the newer exhibit better. It is interesting and even peaceful (feng shui?) the way the seeds fall and stack. My second thought is that this would be just enough sunflower seeds to last Major League Baseball for a season.

The dentists would have made a fortune after they had tried to eat them
