I settled on the Nikon 24-120 after much experimentation with grandkids basketball and soccer. Even on FF, the 70-200 was not as versatile as the D500 set-up for those sideline shots and overall opportunities. While many lenses possess various strong points, changing lenses can lead to time loss and accidents, so I occasionally have the second camera handy.
