No one could love American Coots--they are so numerous, boring, and love to eat rotting vegetation under the water.

But the camera sees a different side to them. They are photogenic and even a bit fun, close up.

You did a great job on these old Coots! I find it difficult to get to exposure right with the very black bird and the white beak. These are perfect.

Mike, glad you liked them. Without a camera lens, it would be difficult to "call a Coot cute"! I think we have a tongue twister there.
