I was at Sunset Marina in Rock Island and got these shots. Normally the eagles gather there just before it freezes and after the ice melts. There were 3 people ice fishing so maybe that attracted them; thinking they would get a handout.
The last couple shots are of an eagle perched only 15 feet off the ground. I was about 30 feet away when I took them. The last one is a vertical crop.

well done, I have been watching the eagle counts along the mississippi all winter for some big numbers with very little showing
Awesome set! It's so much fun getting that close to them, I bet you were excited!!
Fine set of eagle photos. Well done throughout!
Way cool! Really nice pics!
I was fishing the Green River below Fontenelle Dam in southwest Wyonming several years ago. Where we stopped for lunch, there was a giant flat-topped tree with an eagle's nest at the top. Mom and Pop eagle were there with 2 eaglets. My old camera didn't zoom enough to get good pics and we didn't want to get closer and disturb them. It was neat to see them go get food, come back and feed the kids.
