On Saturday my church did a hike at Sahuaro Lake. I opted to go the other direction. I couldn't find a "trail," so ended up walking up a wash, then climbing out of the wash to the top of the ridge to find my way back to the lake. Afterwards, we visited a few pull-offs, just for the views. It was a really neat day!

Glad you had a great day out in the wilderness. For us it's always a nice getaway to unwind from the everyday hustle. I wanted to walk up and explorer your lake in your image #5. Very nice series and thanks for sharing.

AzPicLady .., I liked your pictures .., more impressive was the camera in your hand .., the1DX Mark II is one of the finest fastest full frame in the world .. rugged and impressive control over everything ... beats the D5 and anything else on planet earth .. as you learn this camera .., we are going to learn from your shots how impressive photography can be....

Kathy, your set is fantastic and I believe you got photos other members of your church would have loved to captured them. DDLs are sharp as usual and the variety is great. The last photo had me looking for birds peaking out of thier nest.

Greg

Thanks, Greg. That's high praise, and I appreciate it. I actually did stare for awhile to see if any birds were there.

Sahuaro Lake is a favorite spot. It's close to the city and the roads are good. Granted, where I took that picture is a bit of a scramble. Up there, you'll likely be totally alone. Thanks.

Thanks so much. It's a beast of the best kind. I frequently say, "why do I ever shoot anything else!" But after carrying it all day for several days, I know why.

That sounds like my kind of hike, and your photos are good. The parking lot tree is a beauty, and I also particularly like #5 with the view of the lake and surrounding landscape.
