......or is Mitt Romney running the most incompetent presidential campaign in the history of this country? His aides seem to spend all of their time letting everyone know that he didn't mean whatever he just said, and Paul Ryan just flat out lies about voting for defense cuts. They both come out with statements that contradict one another. Regardless of where you are politically, this is just turning into a circus. Am I alone in thinking this? And this has nothing to do with Obama, so don't try to bring him into this.

Note to Self: Not everyone thinks like you. Don't judge them by your standards except for voting for President. They all lie and cheat, just pick the one you think will be controllable.

THE most incompetent campaign? Kerry's comes to mind (windsurfing, anyone?) along with Dukakis, Mondale and McGovern.

Romney is doing better than you'd think. He has huge bucks behind him and some of the most viscious people in the world on his staff for this sort of thing. But his luck is horrible - when he should have been soaring in the polls, Aiken comes along and then come Isaac. For his convention, Eastwood stole the show. Romney just can't get a break.

Neither one of them is telling any kind of compelling story as to why they should be elected or re-elected.

Obama seems to be against the non-existent war on women and Romney seems to be against Obamacare except for the parts he likes. Both are for jobs, but have told us nothing about how they think they will increase the number of jobs available.

After watching Romney and Ryan, I'm beginning to believe in conspiracies. What if Romney and Ryan were sent by the Democratic Party to become the candidates for the Republicans and told to evade every question with a non-answer and not be prepared for any interviews and to always say, we won't avoid the tough questions right before or after they avoid them so that the Democrats could win.
That would at least explain some of what I see Romney and Ryan do. The other part that truly amazes me is that Romney will make a statement about something and a half hour later will come back and say he didn't really mean to say that. Who is running for President? Is it Romney or some shadowy figure from the Tea Party.

No, it's not just you.
I think Romney just looked around, saw he was the presidential nominee and realized he was in way over his head.
It has dawned on him that sitting around a private club with a bunch of other rich guys, drinking 25 year old scotch and kabizting about what the president should do and how a businessman could do it better is a lot different than actually doing the job.

Those were some pretty pathetic campaigns. Especially McGovern, Thomas Eagleton.

For about two months I was pretty convinced that the Romney campaign was about as dis-jointed as any that I've seen in quite a while. But then after the RNC it really took on the appearance that there is a list of about 3 Republicans(maybe a few more) that are already setting the stage to be the nominee for 2016.

That list in my opinion is;

Condoleezza Rice, I think she wants the top job, she didn't want VP.

Chris Christie, he thinks he would like it because he believes what everyone tells him about himself.

Last but not least, Paul Ryan, he cares about 2012, but not nearly as much as he's thinking about 2016 on his own.

Just one mans opinion....

Let me add one more name to your list: Jeb Bush. During the primary campaign he was repeatedly ask to run and he refused. When Romney was looking for a VP he removed himself from consideration. I think he realized that Obama was going to be re-elected and didn't want to be associated with a toxic ticket. So he's positioning himself for 2016.

No its not just you, see how the poles are changing. Ryan has become a door mat. He stated in Colorado its up to the state on med pot,18 hrs later aides changed it! Romney changes his stance more often than most folks change underwear! People are starting to notice!

Not after Romney used the Death of one of ours for Political gain! How low will the man go? He has been condemned by both sides! Irresponsible to make statements before he knew facts!
