These picture a working narrow gauge RR running between Durango and Silverton in SW Colorado. Using a Nikon D 90 at the time on program, as I'm a little to slow to keep up with the ever changing light.
Thars trout in them thar stream
That is such a good set... I love the water coming out of the spout! Coal (or wood or) burning ones went by our house when I was a kid, my Mom used to shake her fist at them because they would puff out black smoke from the stack and the cinders would fall on her clean laundry on the clothes line.
Great captures. Love the second one, where it looks like the one guy is doing his best to "water" the other guy's shoes!
Beautiful photos! I especially like the last one. Thanks for sharing.

Really enjoyed these. Last one just beautiful.
Back in the day, never thought I'd be old enough to say that, my grandfather would sometimes bring home stories about Betty. Cantankerous, seam bursting, ornery, ugly and a few (don't say that in front of the kids) terms not for family ears or, in this case, eyes. Betty was the last of the steam yard switchers at the Delta in Everett, WA. Found out years later that his words applied to all Steam Engines. Each has its own personality, good days and bad, and more than a few of the very bad.
