I have no idea which one 1909 or the one prior, I guess it didn't install correctly or something . I spent 3 days trying how to run the "mage exe." solution but, finally just took the computer back to factory setup. I loaded just what I need to image and loaded the other programs into my older slower computer. We'll see how long that last in the turtle computer before I get Alanna to buy an i7.

I’m away from my computer.... but have experienced the same as you on 1909-3 (?). I googled something like “windows 10 update installation fails.” One of the responses was steps to take via the Microsoft support site. Really quite painless. And none of my files or apps were effected. Super clean and no issues since. If you initially installed W10 over W7, you’ll be doing essentially the same thing again with the latest update included.

Argh! So frustrating!
I had the same thing a few weeks ago. Virtually wipes you out and you have to start all over again.
If you can get to
this web page, maybe it can help.
I went all the way back to basics and so pissed! My stuff is OK, but the preferences were gonzo.
Just a gigantic PITA.
Something to consider if/when you recover is to turn OFF the automatic updates. Then you don't wake up to a broken computer because some geek flubbed his/her code.
I think being a little out of date is better than being on the cutting edge and all bloodied.
I've had it off auto update for over 2 yrs. , it would always want to update when I was out in the middle of a run {URRRRGGG}. I just wanted to hit something but, that would've hurt. I did a factory reset and so far so good . I'm all set up for testing with the bright moon after having 6" of rain all day and night yesterday. Fingers crossed Sonny. 47 greyfox , I tried to do the "maze .exe" but , after trying to get some of those fixes to work . The reset is a pain but, now I can put just imaging capture and control software in my asus and the rest is going in my other computer. Thank yall
