Buzzard on branch at Sacramento WLR. Background is from The Artisan. I thought he was looking pretty fine for a scavenger bird. Nikon D500 with a Nikon 200-500 lens.
Great photo; and if wouldn't mind explaining ( Background is from The Artisan ) I am not familiar with The Artisan.
Using Photoshop and layering with masks I put backgrounds behind images I've shot. These backgrounds are created by companies and sold online. There are various sources. Actually, when I checked, this one I just bought was from dailytexture.com and the group of images is called The Artisan. Photomorphis offers these backgrounds, too, as does a company called flypaper and I'm sure there are many others. It's a very fun way to play with my images.

The image of the Buzzard is fantastic!!
However the back ground is disturbing in as much it makes the perch look OOF/ soft to me.
Beautiful buzzard portrait!

Its a great rendition. I like your creativity re manipulating the background. When I first saw the image I thought to myself, "wow", before realizing the background was modified. Just curious, what's the original look like. Would you be willing to share that?
The best buzzard shot I have yet seen. He is the bird equivalent of a craggy furrowed old man. A winning shot in any contest.
Excellent photograph. Well done.
