Experimenting again/still. She caught my eye at the horse race track back in the fall. I suppose this could be considered a silhouette, what are your thoughts?

It is almost a silhouette. The face has detail in it even though you chose to keep it very dark. I like that. I wish there were a little detail in the hair. It comprises so much of her head that the result is a very black area and only the smallest sliver of a face. That is nit-picking, but I do think that the image would be more stunning if there were a bit of detail in the hair.

I think the processing is great and the finished product is “greater."

Excellent work, Dave!

Overall I think nicely done. For me the only negative are the sun glasses. The reflection is a bit “strong”. When I first looked at the image that is were my eyes landed. Perhaps a little toning down would work for me, But it certainly is not a toss this photo and redo it time

There is just enough shading in her face to know we would like see more. The reflection in the glasses pulls the eye right to the area of interest but gives way to contemplate, and dwell on her face, with peripheral vision all that is needed to take in the whole composition. Anyway, thats how it works for me.

It’s a clever image Dave. The sunglasses pull the eye to the starting point - very appropriate. Then we can look beyond the the glasses and enjoy the whole. I think it’s exceptionally well done.

Thanks UTMike, I never know how an image I processed from the norm will translate.

Thanks Dave, sometimes I do think I'm losing it. Your comment puts it back into perspective for me. Much appreciated.

Yea Erich, I think it's probably a borderline qualification for a silhouette. I think with this image detail in the hair is nowhere to be found since I took it with so much backlighting. Experimentation can have its difficulties, but does help to some degree. Maybe I should try and try again? I appreciate the nit-picking though. It gives me something to think and process about.

I agree, Frank. The sunglasses needs tone down, but I'll probably leave it as is. I appreciate the suggestion tho.

Mark I actually wanted to pull her face out of the shade just a little and did, but reversed the process. Exposure didn't have the appeal I was wanting so you get what you see. Thanks for your comments.

Thanks Dave. I appreciate the comments. It helps me to know I'm on a positive track after being away and out of touch for awhile now. Glad you like the image.
